> Do you ever work with brides?

> What is your turnaround time?
After receiving the image files, the design time for the first draft is 2 weeks or less. The second draft will be sent back within a few days of getting the revisions.
> How many pictures do you recommend sending for an album?
Image selection can be done a couple ways. Either the bride can pick all the pictures she wants included (we suggest 1-3 per page), or you can send up to 300 pictures and we can pick and choose. We’ve found that the best scenario is when a photographer sends around 100-300 of their “album-worthy” images and allows us to choose from those for the first draft. If you or the bride has a list of “must haves” for the album, let us know by sending a list or creating a separate folder of favorites so we can make sure those are included and featured in the design.
> How do I prep and send the images?
After you place an order with the order form, the next step is to prep and send the images. Please follow these guidelines:
1 – Send no more than 300 images. Make sure they are named in chronological order.
2 – Save your images as quality 10 .jpgs (Photoshop) or quality 92 .jpgs (Lightroom). This will not impact the quality of your images, but will cut down on download size.
3 – There are a couple ways you can send the images. You can upload them to our ftp server (you need a program like Fetch or FileZilla to do this). If this is the option you select on the order form, I will email you ftp information and instructions. If you have Dropbox or YouSendIt, you can send the folder directly to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your studio name and the couple’s name in the subject line.
> How does the revision process work?
When the first draft is ready, you will be sent a link to an online proofing site. You can leave revision comments under each spread. The design of the layouts should, for the most part, be kept the same. But if the bride would like to swap images, that’s no problem. For image swaps, the new image should be the same orientation (horizontal/vertical), or be able to be cropped the same orientation, as the one being replaced. If the bride wants to add images, additional spreads can be purchased. Three rounds of revisions are included in the design only rate. We recommend using the first round to make your own changes and then using the second and third round for your client. There will be a $50 fee for each additional round of revisions.
> Is there a deadline for sending revisions? How long will you keep the project open?
There is a one month deadline to send revisions. At that time, you will need to pay the balance in order to keep the order open (if the total is not paid, the project will be purged from the system). Projects with a paid balance will be kept on file for up to a year, and then purged from the system.
> How does payment work?
Our design only rate is $9 per page/side ($18 per double page spread). This includes three rounds of revisions (additional revisions are $50/round). An invoice will be sent with your first draft. Payment is due one month after the first draft is sent, or when the bride approves her album (whichever comes first). We don’t send the high resolution files until payment is received, so some people like to pay in advance to make sure there is no delay once we get the bride’s approval. You can pay by mailing a check or via Paypal (there is a 3% fee if you want to go this route).
> Do you print and bind the albums? Who are your suppliers?
About 90% of our clients use the design only rate and send to the album supplier of their choice. When we do handle the whole process, we outsource printing and binding to two different companies depending on the type of book ordered (Leather Craftsmen for Flush Mount Albums and Finao for Skinny Flush Mount Albums).
